First workout done

First workout is in the books!  You will get your plan soon, if you haven't already.  I need to start a week ahead of the group workout because my goal race is 2 weeks prior to the YMCA June 16th run.  (I can't run in the Y events.) Plus, we are experimenting on me so we can tweak the schedule and get it right for you!  I did 4x400 meter repeats and felt pretty good.  The wind was swirling so sometimes it slowed me and sometimes it helped.  My times were consistent.  First three were all in 1:44 and the last one was 1:35.  I'll do a tempo run later this week and Sunday's are always longer runs.  I'm excited for this group to get out there and burn it up!

  1. Good job, Chris! I am pumped about this! I was waiting for my program plan but spun weds and ran 3 or so on Thurs. I think I may be doing a hill run on Saturday at the Cooks Forest 5k, as they say it is hilly! I'll try my first interval on Sunday.

    1. Good luck at Cook Forest! That's a nice run. Always remember that you are stronger than you think you are! Soak up the positive mojo of that race and carry it with you into your workouts. Let me know if you have questions about your plan.

  7. Kitty,

Now the next step is to make your own post rather than solely comment on the older post!!

In answer to your question, if the pain is not impacting your activities of daily living, some have been able to run through it. The key is,... even if you have a good day, you should still ice, and do the strengthening exercises. The downhill can really pound the legs,... so be careful!!
